Quality Assurance Program

Since 1993, Omni Engineering has garnered years of direct QA support experience through our three successive contracts with SupShip Gulf Coast. Our Quality Assurance Team has established a proven track record of providing superlative technical oversight, interpretation, and surveillance in accordance with written QA guidance and Military Standards for New Construction ships. We have demonstrated sound judgment and engineering practices through the application of current instructions and directives, including ANSI / ASQC Q9001, utilized in the New Construction process. Our experienced QA inspectors possess specific qualifications, such as welding, paint or visual inspection certifications, enabling them to conduct independent inspections. Omni's QA inspectors operate as a highly visible, experienced and professional technical team.

Omni develops and maintains CCI folders containing prepared checklists, applicable engineering drawings, ship specification extracts, appropriate MIL-STDs, trial cards, observation records, ECP data, wireway requirements and any related documents. In conjunction with SupShip personnel, Omni initiates deficiency reports in the form of Corrective Action Requests (CAR). We provide follow-up inspection services to ensure deficiency correction. In conjunction with CCI efforts, Omni conducts routine surveillance and special investigation inspection services in accordance with established checklists.

QA personnel provide additional support by witnessing shipboard tests in accordance with approved test procedures. We conduct special investigations and inspections that include, but are not limited to the inspection of electrical wireways and cables, regular preservation and preventive maintenance, corrosion control and coatings application, fabricated assemblies, doors, hatches, scuttles and troughs, ECP installation for Post Delivery Availabilities (PDA), care and protection of raw material as well as HM&E test witnessing, trial card deficiency review and status reports.

We anticipate that each Task Order will provide specific, if not unique QA / QC requirements. Omni’s QA Manager will determine the process for identifying, collecting and analyzing the specific metrics required by each Task Order thereby monitoring performance, quality achievement and customer satisfaction.
